Bala Vihar/Yuva Kendra

Acharya: Swami Sharananandaji

1.      A nominal donation is requested to offset some of the maintenance expenses. The goal of Chinmaya Mission is to provide the service to all the people. If anyone has financial difficulty, please contact us.

2.      Bala Vihar is for children from pre-school to the 8th grade, and Yuva Kendra is for children of High School and above. In each program, children are divided into different groups based on the grades they are attending in school

3.      It is important that all children attend the classes regularly and be very punctual with the time schedule of 9 AM  or 11:45 AM sharp, to obtain maximum benefit from these programs. Bal Vihar/Yuva Kendra meets every Sunday from 9 AM to 11 AM ( Session I ) and 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM   ( Session II ). We observe the following five long weekends as holidays for Bala Vihar classes: Memorial day (Sunday 5/27/01), Independence day (Sunday 7/1/01), Labor day (Sunday 9/3/00), Thanksgiving (Sunday 11/26/00) and Christmas (Sunday 11/24/00)

4.      It is essential that children complete their assignments and come prepared for the classes. Children must come with their Sunday School folder, assigned books, a note book, and pen or pencil. It is a good idea to give a bag to carry all the material to your child. Please label everything with the child’s name.

5.      "Study Groups" for adults, discourses on Vedanta, discussion sessions, meditation classes, etc. are held simultaneously with the children's classes. Parents are requested to make use of this invaluable opportunity to educate and prepare themselves, and to help and guide the children.

6.      The concluding prayers is a very vital part of the Bal Vihar. All children and adults must attend the concluding prayers from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM ( Session I ) or 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM ( Session II ). Please do not pick up your child/children before 11:00 AM ( Session I) or 1:45 PM ( Session II ).

7.      In the best interest of the children, the parents are requested not to remain in the children's classes.

8.      You may contact the child's teacher or Coordinator of Education Committee, if you have any questions or need additional information.

9.      The Board of Trustees requests all the parents to submit written suggestions to further improve our educational activities at the Ashram.
